Save something wild…

Save a Spot for the American Jaguar

You can help protect the northern jaguars and help revitalize the Northern Jaguar Reserve by Saving as many Spots as you like — for just $49.00 per acre!

Your help will ensure the Northern Jaguar Reserve continues to receive hands-on attention, and in return, you receive a Certificate of Adoption from the Northern Jaguar Project. You will also be able to view periodical updates about our efforts to protect and conserve the area.

More importantly, you will know that you are participating in a tangible program to preserve the most threatened American cat… the northern jaguars.

How it works…

"Save a Spot for Jaguars" is a Northern Jaguar Project initiative created to raise awareness of the habitat loss issues facing jaguars. It also provides an opportunity for you to play a role in securing the future of the last breeding jaguar population in Sonora, México.

Jaguar Spots can be saved by an individual, a family, a company, an organization, or a group. You can give them as gifts or as a memorial to a loved one.

Each Spot you save provides the funds the Project needs to protect and revitalize habitat for these most critically endangered jaguars – and all of the other rare and threatened animals and plants that share their habitat – and to ensure that your Spot is well cared-for.

There is no limit on the number of spots you can adopt, and your $49 - or more - donation per Jaguar Spot is tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Saving a Spot keeps alive the promise of jaguars in the wild for future generations by giving the jaguars a safe habitat where they will live a naturally full life, absolutely unmolested.

It's about time.

Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders

Northern Jaguar Project extends our thanks and gratitude to Team Jaguar of the Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders initiative.

Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders brings together twenty new, emerging leaders in the wildlife conservation field for capacity building and intense training in campaign development and skills, including implementation of a two-year group international wildlife issue campaign. Wildlife conservation is benefited by the nurturing of future leaders, information sharing and idea exchange amongst conservation entities, and the tangible conservation products generated as part of the group campaign exercise.

EWCL is a collaborative effort between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Division of International Conservation, Defenders of Wildlife, and White Oak Conservation Center/Howard Gilman Foundation.

FAQs

Who will own and manage the protected land?

Naturalia, A. C., a federally recognized Mexican non-profit, will hold title to the property. The land is managed jointly by Naturalia and the Northern Jaguar Project.

Although you won't personally own the land you've adopted, by adopting an acre you directly provide for its protection.

How will my donation be used?

Save a Spot for Jaguars funds are used primarily for:

Can I visit the acre(s) that I adopt?

Because the Northern Jaguar Reserve is in a remote region ill-equipped for visitors, we cannot promise that you can visit. The health of the ecosystem is often dependent on its remoteness.

How can I contact the Save a Spot for Jaguars Program?
